I like how the Precure series balances out its main girls with traditionally masculine and feminine traits. Rin is a tough, soccer playing girl with short hair. But she’s also knowledgeable about flowers and likes to grow them. Rin isn’t ashamed that her parents run a flower shop at all. She isn’t all, “why would I care about flowers? I play soccer; I’m ‘one of the boys.’” The Precure series seems to like showing there’s no shame in having both traditionally masculine and feminine interests; they are equally valid things to like.
yesss i love that too
hibiki likes sports and is all rowdy and loud but she also likes playing the piano and wearing skirts and dresses and is very gentlehearted
akane is all about HOTHEADEDNESS and VOLLEYBALL and PUNCHING SHIT WHILE ON FIRE but she’s also into cooking and cute stuff and is really openly emotional about her friends and family, while nao is all FIERCE SOCCER GIRL who also likes cute things and is a good responsible mom-figure who takes flawless care of her million baby siblings
kisses precure thank u franchise
